Before you undergo a procedure at the Barrett’s Esophagus Center of Excellence, it is important to understand how cost, billing and insurance works at our surgery center. There are many different types of insurance providers and plans, which can make sorting through and deciphering your health care benefits sometimes confusing. While we primarily only accept Aetna, Cigna, Health Net and United, we are also able to work with patients with different insurance carriers or those with no insurance coverage. We also take pride in offering competitive pricing.
Our team knows that medical billing can be complicated, so our mission is to simplify this process for you as much as possible. If you have questions regarding your upcoming procedure, please feel free to contact us by phone at (888) 552-9732 or send us an email. Before scheduling your consultation with one of our doctors, you can also confirm your insurance policy via telephone, in which we can offer you a personalized assessment for coverage.
Insurance Plans Accepted at the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence
At the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence, we accept all PPO plans (Preferred Provider Organizations), and upon review of your insurance, can work with your PPO provider to confirm your coverage. We prefer PPO plans because they typically offer the most freedom when choosing a healthcare facility or provider, and subsequently are one of the most popular types of insurance providers. Our most commonly accepted PPO insurance carriers include:
- Health Net
If your insurance is not one that is accepted by the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence, or if you don’t have any insurance, we can offer you a competitive cash discount. You can learn more about specific payment plans by contacting our billing department.
Payment Plans and Fees
Many services are included whenever you undergo a procedure at the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence, which are then factored into your overall cost of care. The Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence charges a facility fee for each surgery or procedure that is performed at our outpatient center, which varies from procedure to procedure and does not include fees for your required pathology and laboratory work, or for your surgeon, anesthesiologist or consulting physician.
Procedure payments are the responsibility of the patient. If you have one of our accepted insurance companies, it is required that you pay your estimated deductible and co-payments before your procedure. Payments forms accepted at our outpatient center include cash, personal checks (co-pay only), VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card. Upon payment of these fees and verification of your insurance, we will then bill your insurance company for you.
Outpatient Surgery Advantages
Both quality and cost are important to factor in when selecting a surgical facility. As a world-renowned outpatient surgery center, the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence offers the most personalized care and highest standards of medicine in a controlled and safe environment.
The combination of our unique structure, world-renowned physicians and cutting-edge technology allow us to perform many procedures on an outpatient basis that would otherwise require inpatient hospital stay in traditional settings. Because inpatient hospital stay can be expensive, most of our patients find that our outpatient pricing is comparable or even less expensive than a hospital’s fees.
At the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence is an elective, patients do not experience long delays for procedures and are far less likely to contract an infection because we are a non-emergency surgical center. Furthermore, our surgeons work with the same assistants and nurses every day, which allows for reduced time under anesthesia and more efficient surgery. As a result of this, the Bunion Surgery Center of Excellence has developed a reputation among doctors as the “go to” center for the finest outpatient surgical care.
